Indigo dyed wool on a cotton warp, twined fringe. Mounted on a birch frame 0.5 inches smaller than the weaving on all sides. The weaving floats 1.5 inches away from the wall.

This weaving was one of my first experiments with weft resist techniques. In this case, the wool underwent 5 different dips in an indigo vat, with a resist being removed every dip. This yields a small section of gradient on the wool, which can be woven using a slit tapestry technique to produce a shooting star motif.
